No Fail Banana Bread

Is there anything better in this world than a warm and buttery slice of banana bread? I THINK NOT!

I’m sure there are far more intricate recipes for gourmet banana bread but this is the easiest I’ve found and no matter what I tweak, it always turns out perfect. This is not healthy. This is not diet friendly. But it DOES contain fruit… so we can all pretend!

All you need are…

3-4 ripe bananas, smashed
1/3 cup melted butter
3/4 cup sugar
1 egg, beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon baking soda
pinch of salt
1 1/2 cups of all purpose flour {whole wheat if you’re feeling frisky}
After preheating your oven to 350 degrees, give your naners a good smooshy-smash.

Mix in butter, vanilla, sugar, and egg followed by the salt, flour, and baking soda.

Pour into a 4×8 inch loaf pan or two mini pans… because mini pans are way cuter.

Sprinkle the top with a pinch of sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg and bake for 45 minutes to an hour.

VOILA! The sugar mixture creates a nice crunchy top and the innards are so nice and soft.

Like I said, it’s not the most gourmet or unique of recipes but it is fab-u-lus and you will love it!

  1. I love that your banana bread doesnt contian nuts of any kind! No one ever remembers to label when they bring banana bread somewhere what kind of nuts are in it and I always grab a slice and end up with a swollen tongue and mouth because it usually contains over a cup of chopped walnuts! If you want and even more indulgent, but oh so good banana recipe I have a banana cake one that Ive been cooking up since I was 13 with by bff from Venezuela. Its to die for!

  2. you may want to add flour at some point… didn’t see it in the instructions, just the ingredient list. I’ll just add it after mixing everything else together. 🙂
