Thankful on Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I hope you have big plans for the day filled with friends, family and plenty of FOOD! I’m going to ATTEMPT not to stuff myself too full… considering Keelin has been making it quote difficult to fit a full meal in my tummy in one sitting… but I can’t make any promises. It’s THANKSGIVING for Pete’s sake! {who is Pete anyway?}

If this is Pete, he’s in for a not-so-pleasant day. That pilgrim hat won’t save you Pete!

Considering today is the OFFICIAL day to give thanks, I’m boosting my count and sharing 10 things I’m exceptionally thankful for!

16. I’m thankful that my mother-in-law so graciously offered to host Thanksgiving at her house this year. I’m definitely looking forward to a day of relaxation and plenty of family time.

17. I’m thankful for getting in and out of Kroger last night in less than 10 minutes. It was a total madhouse but thankfully my super short grocery list put me on the fast track in the 15 items or less lane.

18. I’m thankful that today kicks off non-stop Christmas music on B98.5! You can bet that’s where my radio will be tuned through Christmas day! I was really bummed when moving to GA because one of my FAVORITE things about Richmond during the holidays is the non-stop Christmas music on Lite 98. THANKFULLY B98.5 is just as awesome!

19.  I’m thankful for all the amazingly kind comments my friends and family have been giving me each week as I add another belly picture to my collection. It can be easy to feel like a roly poly when you’re a few days shy of 8 months pregnant but I’ve been fortunate to receive nothing but love from day one and I feel so blessed to be getting so much sweetness and support!

20.  I’m thankful for The Hunger Games series. If you haven’t read it, go ahead and add it to your Christmas list… like right now. No seriously. NOW! It’s amazing. Read it.

21. I’m thankful for an almost complete nursery! There are only a few more things to add to be TOTALLY done… including a sweet little girl… but I couldn’t be happier with the way it has turned out and it’s become more than I ever dreamed it could be!

22. I’m thankful for Macaroni and Cheese. I had to throw this one in there because it’s the one dish I’m in charge of for Thanksgiving dinner today and I found a recipe that is BEYOND yummy! I’ll do a recipe post about it soon!

23. I’m thankful that I can still {for the most part} walk like a normal human being. I saw a woman today who could not have been much further along in her pregnancy than me who was waddling around like a duck who’d spent too much time riding horseback. When I walked past her I heard the women with her say, “She’s pregnant and she’s not walking like a fool!”

24. I’m thankful that God blessed women with the gift of childbearing and the ability to have a natural birth. So many people poo poo me when I say I’m going to do everything I can to have a completely natural birth, but when God has blessed you with such a special gift… why not embrace it? {disclaimer: I fully believe that every woman has the right to choose for herself how she is going to give birth and if she’s going to have children at all. I won’t turn my nose up at you for choosing to get an epidural if you don’t turn your nose up at me for not.}

25. I’m thankful for all of my wonderful friends and family who have influenced my life and helped me to become the person I am today. I don’t say it enough but you are all so very special and I am truly honored to know each and every one of you!

 Until next time…

I hope you all have a WONDERFUL Thanksgiving!

  1. I am SO thankful for my absolutely glowing daughter-in-law who looks lovelier each day she is pregnant – and the opportunity to hang out with her the day after Thanskgiving – and her indulgence of my knitting addiction 🙂
