It’s less than a week until Christmas ya’ll… so I figured this ITS OK Thursday should be Christmas-themed! It only makes sense.
… that I’ve only baked ONE batch of cookies. Gingerbread {Trader Joe’s ya’ll.. YUM} that are too scrumdidliumptious!
… that I came home from JoAnn Fabrics with three full bags of Christmas goodies when I went in intending just to buy a gingerbread man cookie cutter. In my defense, the will power of a Christmas-loving craft-a-holic is no match for a 70% off Christmas sale. SQUEEE!
… that I’m actually letting myself look forward to when Christmas is over because of all the exciting things the New Year has in store. Don’t get me wrong… this is my FAVORITE time of year, but I can’t contain my excitement!
… that I hope the winners of the recent giveaways now have some fantastic swag to give as gifts… even if it’s a gift for themselves!
… that really the only thing on my Christmas list is for Keelin to look at me and say “mama”. I feel like she’s forgotten the word ever since everything became “dada” or “daggie” {doggie}
… that although I’m so thankful we get to spend Christmas with Z’s parents, and kind of have a 2nd Christmas when my parents come to visit the day after, I’m still reminiscing about last Christmas when my entire family was in my house. Despite being the size of a house and having to deal with a pinched nerve in my back… it was kind of the perfect Christmas.
… that I’m really crossing my fingers that Keelin has the same reaction to her presents and tearing into the wrapping paper that she does when I play it out in my head.
… to really really really wish I had like a week-long “Christmas vacation” where I didn’t have to worry about getting my work done and could just focus on the magic of the holiday.
… to get really PO’d when people feel the need to censor themselves by saying “Happy Holidays” instead of “Merry Christmas” or “Happy Hanukkah”, etc. Like saying either of the latter is “bad”. Seriously, if you celebrate Christmas, wish me a Merry Christmas. If you celebrate Hanukkah, wish me a Happy Hanukkah! Whatever it is that you celebrate, please, wish it to me. My “thank you, and a Merry Christmas to you!” will be dripping with sincerity because I LOVE the holiday that I celebrate and shouldn’t feel like I have to censor myself when I want to share that love. Seriously… people wonder why the world is so torn apart, what do you expect when you are taught that you have to be politically correct in everything you do. I will not be offended if you wish me a Happy Kwanzaa, Boxing Day, Diwali, Bodhi Day, Hanukkah, WHATEVER… If it’s what you celebrate, you should be able to spread the love and tradition you feel to everyone. {I had every intention of writing a full post about this topic… because clearly it gets me riled up… but being that the spirit of the season is happiness and love and so on and so forth, I figured this would be enough to get my point across without seeming like a total Grinch. The end.}
… that I SLIGHTLY splurged on an adorable Christmas dress and cardigan for Keelin. It was also 30% off… another point for this budget-conscious mama!
… to be pumped about making a custom hairpiece to match said adorable Christmas dress and cardigan.
… that I had to cut back our Christmas card list because getting photo cards printed and mailed out is so errrfing expensive.
… that I’m writing this while sitting by a roaring fired, fighting the fart machines for the best spot on the floor.

Seriously, I’m camped out next to the fire contemplating if I order in dinner if I can get the delivery guy to walk it in the house to me so I don’t get my spot taken away from a dog!
Merry Christmas!!
